Grounds Maintenance Operatives - Permanent

We currently have positions available due to an increasing work load for grounds maintenance operatives.



We are seeking an individual who enjoys working in an outdoor environment and have high personal standards.



Duration: This is a full time permanent position subject to satisfactory probationary period



Job Purpose

To assist with grounds maintenance duties including grass cutting, hedge cuttings, litter picking, weed control (general and invasive species) and other relevant tasks



Job duties

Include carrying out pre-start checks on required vehicles and equipment.

Record pre-start checks, work progress including before and after photos and check maps/ work schedule on tablet.

Carry out and sign off site specific risk assessments along with regularly assessing changing risk levels

Keep a record of works and contribute to works that may be required on site at the next visit

Report any accidents or ‘near misses’ to management in a timely manner

Report all issues of concern to management including 3rd party damage or damages to company equipment as soon as possible

Please note this role can be physically demanding and requires working in a variety of weather conditions



Essential

Full UK driving licence capable of driving a large vehicle

Experience in a similar role

Capable of securing equipment to a vehicle and suitably loading or unloading.

Technology literate

Punctual, honesty and trustworthy

Good mechanical knowledge with plant or equipment experience

Thrive in an outdoor environment

Flexible working arrangements and able to work to tight deadlines.

Comfortable working at height

Good communication and organisational skills

Competent in managing health and safety and can abide by H&S regulations



Desirable

Relevant land based training such as Lantra or NTPC

HGV or trailer entitlements

IPAF training

Plant or equipment certificates

CSR, First aid or manual handling certificates

Familiar with lean working systems

Utility Arborist - Permanent

Job Purpose

Working as part of a tree care team clearing utility lines, removing unwanted or dangerous trees, to maintain and shape trees on customers sites or attending call outs for storm damaged trees. Provincewide North and South.


Job duties

Include carrying out pre-start checks on required vehicles and equipment.

Record pre-start checks, work progress including before and after photos and check maps/ work schedule on tablet.

Carry out and sign off site specific risk assessments along with regularly assessing changing risk levels

Assisting other members of the team with their duties

Completion of internal and external paperwork on paper and digitally

We currently have a position available on our utilities tree team for an individual to drive our van mounted cherry picker as part of a 2-3 person tree team

We are seeking an individual who can use initiative, enjoys working in an outdoor environment and can motivate team members to achieve good productivity levels.

Job Purpose

To clear existing phone lines and to clear a path for new lines to be installed as part of a team in a safe and effective manner. You will be expected to manage your work load and ensure your team achieves their targets.

Job duties

Include carrying out pre-start checks on vehicle and equipment such as MEWP, chainsaws, wood chipper, leaf blower and pruning saws. To ensure all equipment is kept clean, tidy and in good working order.

Set out temporary traffic management to create a safe work site

Clear branches from phone lines to ensure clear run for new lines to be installed

Beneficial Training or Experience

Cross transferable skills are crucial and a number of our services require the following training courses. The company have paid for a number of committed staff members to go through these courses to ensure they can safely and productively operate equipment and carry out works.

HGV licence

  • Trailer licence

  • IPAF

  • PA1, PA2 or PA6

  • Tree work certificates such as cs30/31, climbing, aerial rescue or rigging

  • Relevant experience in any of our services

CSR, Manual handling, first aid

  • Abrasive Wheels

  • Working at heights

  • Wood chipper use

  • Forklift/ telehandler tickets

  • Digger/ Dumper tickets
